They are just 7 months old and are a repeat of Sean’s first litter of three champions which include Multi BIS Int. Am Champion B and K Sean’s Grand Slam V Paradise, (Patrick), CH B and K Let’s Play Ball, (Cain) and Ch. B and K Most Valuable Player, (Posey). Sean has multiple breeds this year and is in the Top Ten Great Danes in Breed Points for his third year and is #6 in Group points. It has been a fabulous year. Sean will be retiring at the end of the year and Patrick will take his place in the ring to carry on Sean’s name. Sean has also received his CHIC # 82359.

Adelaide Danes

Adelaide Great Danes has a lot to SHOUT about. Our home bred baby boy Payton (Adelaide’s Gridiron “Sweetness”) has been shining in the ring. At just 12 months of age Payton has eight points including a specialty major all owner/breeder handled from the Bred-By class. Payton was awarded WD/BOW and Best BBE at the Santa Cruz Kennel Club (5/13/2012)for one point under judge Dr. Sophia Kaluzniacki. Payton later that day went on to receive a group two in the BBE group. In April at the Great Dane Club of Northern CA specialty Payton showed his heart out in the BBE class and did very well. The first day he placed third out of a class of five under breeder judge Dr. Ralph J Graff. The second day he placed second out of a class of five under breeder judge Mrs. Katie D Edwards all at the tender age of 10 months. In May Payton was awarded WD at the Coyote Hills Kennel Club (5/20/12) for another two points under judge Mrs. Roberta (Bert) Rettick and WD at the Kennel Club of the California Sierra (5/28/2012) for another point under judge Mr. Neil W. Graves. As an anniversary present Payton was awarded WD for another point at the Lake County Kennel Club under judge Mr. Philip K Freilich. Then to top it off, Payton is following in his mommy’s footsteps by winning his major at the speciality hosted by the Monterey Bay Great Dane Club. Payton was awarded WD for a three point major under respected breeder judge Ms. Dale Suzanne Tarbox along with Best BBE. Later that day Payton was also awarded Best BBE under breeder judge Ms. Mari Hayhurst. We couldn't be more proud of our man since he was only shown very selectively in the breed ring since his championship.

The next day Murdock was WD, BOW, BOS for 2 more pts, brother Zeke was Reserve. June 24th Murdock was WD for a 3 pt Major at the Iowa City Shows, Iowa. He now needs 1 major to finish his CH. Terri and I thought we would be "road warriors" and enter the Mt. Bachelor KC shows in Redmond Oregon. Besides having a great time, the dogs made us proud and came home sporting the following wins and accolades: Ch Sasdania-Vitag's Deal No Deal Alto Gavea AOM CGC"Rio" Took back to back to back BOB wins at the Mt Bachelor Kennel Club Show! Patientdanes What's Not to Love V Tered-Dbm "Lucy" took WB/BOW under Judge Eric Leibes the same weekend. Tered-DBM's Go Big or Go Home CGC "Major" came away with a WD under Judge Eric Liebes and 2 RWDs under judges Linda Riedel and Arley Hussin. Tered-DBM's newest addition to the show ring and only his second weekend out, Croydebayonne Ye Wright Stuff "Wilbur" went WD/BOW 2 of the 3 days under Judges Linda Riedel and Arley Hussin and a RWD the remaining day under Eric Liebes at the Mt Bachelor show!

Earlier in the month Major racked up three more Reserves at the Gridley and Woofstock Clusters.

Next up for us was The Monterey Bay Specialty: We are so proud of our young boys whom we refer to as "The brothers Wil." First we are very proud of "Willis" CroydeBayone Yield to None (named for Patrick Willis of the SF49ers) who stepped into the show ring for the very first time at the Monterey Bay Specialty. With great maturity, he stood for examination without so much as a quiver and trotted along with grace and elegance. What a good job for his first time out!!!

His brother "Wilbur" Croydebayone Ye Wright Stuff strutted his stuff to "Best Puppy" in the AM show and then brought home a Major Reserve at the PM show. The following 2 days he made us equally proud at the Del Monte KC shows by by taking Winners Dog and Best Puppy and then a Group 2 placement on Saturday followed by Winners Dog and Best of Winners at the Sunday show!

We took a little rest and headed for 3 days of the 4 day cluster in Stockton but this time it was it was Major and Lucy's turn. On Friday, at the Sierra-Tuolumne show Tered-Dbm's Go Big or Go Home "Major" brought home 2 points by taking Winners Dog and Best of Winners! Then back again on Sunday we came and Major took Winners/BOW for 2 points BUT then..."Lucy" Patientdanes What's Not to Love, not to be outdone brought home her own 2 points by going Winners Bitch. Back again for the final day on Monday and once again Major took Winners Dog for 2 more points. All in all...we are ecstatic of the recent wins and... now... Major joins the hunt for majors along with several of his local buddies!!. (From June - July 2012 Barker)

We had a very nice weekend at Carmel, July 13th -15th. Our girl "BB" (Danemark N Jaya Bout Time AlDawn) went RWB to majors at both the AM (Dale Tarbox) and PM (Mari Hayhurst) MBGDC Specialty on Friday. And then went WB on Sunday at Del Monte for 2 pts under judge Nancy Simmons. BB was handled by her first Mom and co-owner Karen Martin who came out for a visit.

We are pleased to announce that Guster (Valinor's Black Diamond in the Ruff, BN, RN) has been invited to compete in the Obedience Invitational Event in the Novice class at the National. To be invited to this event, dogs must be ranked in the top 10 highest scoring dogs in one of the regular obedience classes : Novice, Open, and Utility. Gus ranked as the number 9 dog for this event.

Elphie:
Elphie (Elphaba's Wicked Dream, CDX, RE) competed in a Canine Nose Work Trial in Salinas in July 2012. In this event, Elphie must use her nose to identify the exact location of 4 "hides" that the judges place on vehicles, outside, in containers and in an interior room. Although we didn't title, she earned a first place in the Interior Search. We learned a lot and look forward to trying again for a title following the National (From June - July 2012 Barker)

It is with great pleasure we announce a new Grand Champion at Coleridge: GCH CH Coleridge Sultan of Blue Suede Shoes, "Sully." Some show highlights since completing his championship in September include back-to-back BOB wins at Skyline Dog Fanciers of San Mateo County and Del Valle Dog Club Of Livermore Kennel Clubs under judges Ms. Lee Whittier and Jason Hoke (handled by Dr. Allison Paxton), and Major Select wins at Dog Fanciers Association of Oregon, Oakland Kennel Club, and Monterey Bay Great Dane Club under judges Mr. Steven D. Gladstone, Mrs. Honey Anne Glendinning, and Mrs. Mari Hayhurst (handled by Catherine Collins).

DeYoung Ranch is pleased to announce that "Ziggy" is now CH DeYoungs Siegfried V Bubba Rondo having completed his championship at the GDCNC Specialty on April 29th. This was a very nice win for him over stiff competition. The prior year at this show Ziggy earned his first major so this was extremely exiting for both Janet and Ziggy's other "Mom" Donnell Giambastiani who handled him. Isis rocks Lodi at the Great Dane Specialty April 28 & 29 2012 going RWB on sat following up with Best-of- Winners on sunday. Isis also competed and earned her 1st and 2nd leg toward her Rally Advanced title, earning 1st place in both the 1st and 2nd show.

Isis earned her Rally Novice title in April with a great performance on the last leg (with a score of 98) in Vallejo. Isis returned to Vallejo on May 19 & 20, again going RWB on Sat and Best-of-Winners on Sun.

We are ecstatic to announce that Summer "Am. Intl. Ukc. CH. Destiny's Some Like it hot AOM" took A Select Bitch and Award of Merit at The Nor Cal Great Dane Specialty under respected judge Dr. Ralph Graff. Summer was also pulled on Sunday. We were especially excited since this was her first time back in the ring after a 7 month absence, and the competition was fierce and all were very deserving.

We are also very proud of our own demon child Sophie" Intl CH. Destiny's One Hot Reflection" who won her sweeps class on Sunday under Pat Putnam.

Adelaide Great Danes is thrilled to have our newest puppy hopeful out in the show ring. Adelaide's Gridiron "Sweetness" AKA Payton went Best Puppy in Match March 17 at the Kennel Club of California Sierra following his mom's (Int'l & GCH Divine Acres Sugar and Spice Girl AKA Cinnamon; footsteps as she was also Best Puppy in Match at the same show three years prior.
The following weekend Payton made his real show debut, where
he actually had to behave, at the Vallejo shows the following weekend. Payton won his class two of four days and took RWD from the BBE class at a show that was 2 pts shy of a three pt major. What a way to start out and

Zep warmed up for his AKC debut at the IABCA shows earned his Int’l/Nat’l Puppy Championship and taking Best of Breed puppy and Group 2 TWICE! The following weekend, at Golden Gate Kennel Club, Zep took Winners Dog and Best of Winners for his first point!

Adelaide Great Danes

Adelaide Great Danes is proud to present two International Champions; GCH Divine Acres Sugar and Spice Girl “Cinnamon” and CH Divine Acres Talisman “Taz”. Cinnamon was awarded BOB and a group 3 in one of the shows.

In addition there is a National/International Puppy Champion Adelaide’s Gridiron “Sweetness” “Payton”. This was Payton’s first show experience and what a debut it was. Payton turned the heads of many spectators and judges. Payton was awarded three BOB BBE and one BOB puppy. He went on to take groups twos; two BBE group twos and one BOB puppy group 2. What a great way to start a show career.

Taz was shown at the end of January at Cow Palace. On Saturday he was awarded BBE and Sunday was awarded WD for the final point. Yes, you see that right. I thought he was finished in November. Well upon looking and speaking with AKC he was one point short. Somewhere, somehow along the line I lost a point I thought he had. AKC had him at 13 points and I had him at 15 points but could only prove 14 points. I am glad I take pictures at all the shows we win at and another good reason to confirm points when it’s all said and done. Anyhow, Taz obtained that last point he needed and I am waiting to confirm with AKC. So Taz should be officially CH Divine Acres Talisman. Whew, what a time that was.

Finally, Adelaide Gridiron “Sweetness” AKA Payton had his first AKC show at the end of January at Cow Palace. Payton was a rock star. He loved socializing with everyone and did awesome. He took Best Puppy on Sunday and RWD on Sunday. He was mainly there for the exposure and to have fun. We are so proud of our boy. (From Dec 2011 - Jan 2012 Barker)

Paradise Danes

With the new AKC rules they have added a new class at some shows that pull owner handlers out of the winners class and they will then go on to compete for Best in Show. Vince and Sean (GCH Bayside Just Another Day In Paradise CGC) were chosen at the Dog Fanciers Assn. of Oregon. Vince and Sean then took Group one and BEST IN SHOW. It was a nice win as AKC is promoting this and will give the owner handler a chance to do well at a show. It was a nice win and the only Great Dane that has done this as of yet but the year is young and many will follow. (From Dec 2011 - Jan 2012 Barker)

"Rush" (WCK Olympus' Rushville Rocket) won WB for another 2 pts at the Douglasville show under Italian judge Nicola Imbimbo. Rush was bred by Mel Eso, owned by Mel Eso and Denise Williams.

The Danelyne puppies in Australia did it again! Their latest wins include: "Midas Jr." (Danelyne Touch O Midas) winning CH. dog and "Brooke" (Danelyne Golden Touch) winning CH. bitch, BOB and Best Puppy in Show! Shameera also passed her 3 ORT's (odor recognition test) for Nosework, and is on her way to trialing for an NW1.
